Recession Dining Deal at Ruth’s Chris Steak House
Last weekend, I found myself in an area I consider to be a culinary dead zone — Times Square in Manhattan. Chock-full of tourist traps and expensive chains, I rarely eat in this neighborhood. What’s the point? High prices and mediocre food?
Unfortunately, when seeing a Broadway show with family from out of town, eating in the theater district is usually the more practical option. My family is full of steak lovers so while searching for a steak restaurant for our pre-show dinner, I stumbled upon this: Ruth’s Chris on 51st Street has a new “Classics” prix-fixe deal for $39.95. At a place where $40 barely buys you a steak, this is quite a deal!
We went on Friday and I started with a generous and tasty caesar salad, then had the 6-ounce filet mignon with 3 grilled shrimps, a side of sautéed mushrooms and finished with a dessert duo of fresh berries with sweet cream and chocolate mousse.
It was an amazing deal, the food was top notch and the service was great — Definitely check it out!
